Here are some pictures from our First Friday broadcast yesterday at Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium. We were there to talk about the World Vision Experience:AIDS tent. It'll be there through the weekend, and we would encourage you to stop by and check it out. You'll find it particularly moving.
Courtney Brandt is with World Vision. She travels around the country with the World Vision Experience Tent. She told us she has the coolest job in the world. After they finish up at Grace on Monday at 8p they'll break the tent down and head for Wisconsin.
Pastor Ben Abell from Grace Fellowship (on the right) and Pastor John Schmidt (left) from Central Presbyterian Church stopped by for a few minutes to talk about how their two churches have partnered together to create Hope Springs, an AIDS ministry in the Baltimore area. If you'd like more info contact hopesprings@centralpc.org
Towards the end of the morning we met the staff of Grace's summer children's camp ministry called Sonfields. We were blown away by the youthful passion these college students had for the kids they'll begin working with in just a few weeks.
Dave had a cool moment during the broadcast. He met Cathy Williams, a listener who shares the same birthday as Dave. In fact, they were both born on May 14, 1960! Cathy is actually seven hours older than Dave and has clearly aged much better...
Enjoy your weekend. On Monday we plan to talk about ways you can save energy dollars during this hot weather and how to stay safe and keep your kids safe outside when the temperature soars like it will for the next several days.
