Did you see American Idol last night? They closed the show with the remaining eight contestants singing "Shout to the Lord". We spent a lot of time this morning talking about it. There were three issues that came to dominate the conversation:
1. How cool was it that the song was heard by millions around the world
2. But, they changed the lyrics. The removed the name of Jesus and instead sang "shepherd" in it's place
3. How uncool was it to end American Idol Gives Back a few minutes later with a comedy bit featuring Ben Stiller saying some bleeped out obscenities.
In case you missed "Shout to the Lord" on American Idol last night here it is
We also talked with Josh Glaser of the ministry Regeneration. They do a wonderful job helping people break free of sexual addiction. Josh has experienced this first hand.

Tomorrow we are expecting our two regualr Friday guests. Jimmy Page who's been helping us get fit and well will join us at 7:30a. Matt Stover, kicker for the Baltimore Ravens, will be our guest at 8:30a. You may be aware of some news that Matt has generated this week through a leaked e-mail about the NFL Players Union. We'll get his take on that at 8:30a

"The removed the name of Jesus"
What does the Father in heaven think of that I wonder?
"They worship Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me."
Regeneration is a good outreach, as is Exodus for homosexuals. They speak the truth in love. They share the condemnation of sin, and hope for the conviction, and speak the forgiveness of sin in the Cross, and risen Lord. I hope they can continue to do this.
With homosexual bishops in the pulpits now, and churches turning away from the truth, or just watering it down, we are in for quite a flood of ungodliness in the church, it will take a lot of courage to stand in Christ's grace and love.
We will be despised by the world as intolerant.
Keep the faith, and kepp fighting the good fight of His truth and faith.
Thanks for putting this on your blog! I'm not a real big Idol fan, and was dissapointed to learn that I missed this. It was kind of easy to see which of the singers was really worshipping while singing. Will you put last nights on, too? I also don't really know how to search YouTube. Maybe I should work on entering 2008!
