This week Raven's kicker Matt Stover found himself the center of a controversy about the future leadership of the NFL Player's Union. It started when an e-mail that Matt wrote was leaked to the media. This morning Matt talked about this controversy with Tracey, Mike and Dave. If you missed it click here.
Here's the e-mail that Matt sent to ESPN in response.
We also rejoiced with Mike that he has now lost 50 pounds towards his goal of losing 80 in '08. He dropped two more pounds this week. Amazingly, since he started this quest he has not had a single week where he has gained weight. He's had a couple where there was no loss, but none where his downward direction has reversed.
We also rejoiced this morning with American Idol's decision to re-sing "Shout to the Lord" with the name of Jesus back in.
Enjoy your weekend!

Weird that they all sang from the begining the first time without Jesus.
But here only three sing the name of Jesus.
"Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His. And let every one that NAMES the NAME of Christ depart from iniquity." 2 Tim. 2:19
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
"If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me,
For whoever will save his life will lose it; but whoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it. ...
For whoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of Man be ashamed". Luke 9:23-26
That is some heart-wrenching truth for the whole heart, soul, and spirit. May we wrap our minds around these words of Jesus, and cry out to Him for the grace and power to deny ourselves, and carry our cross every day.
This is to kill ourselves, and yet it's impossible. But with God all things are possible. Amen.
