A puppy to borrow

Share

Hi friends!

I am still missing Benny, my labradoodle. He was so adorable and smart and sweet, but just not a great match for me so I gave him back to the breeder last Fall and he is happily in a new home. I am still longing for a dog, honestly, but just not ready to take that step just yet. So I figured what I need is a puppy I can borrow.

And so, God said "Yes!"

On Friday, I went with my friend Nancy to get her new golden retriever puppy. We drove over 2 1/2 hours to a charming place in Port Royal, Pennsylvania where this little guy lived. And he was worth the wait! I am now getting my doggie fix by loving on my friend's puppy and her furniture gets chewed not mine! Not a bad deal.

Isn't Jackson cute?

I trust God with the desires of my heart and I am so thankful for the simple joy I can get from enjoying my friend's dog, even when I'm still aching for my own. God knows how to bless us, doesn't He?

Smiles,

Tracey

Jackson is adorable.

I'll share with you my dog story. When I was praying for a dog, I found a female Samoyed for sale and was absolutely determined that THAT was my perfect dog. While I was communicating with the breeder, my mother met a lady who had a male Pomeranian for sale - on "clearance" since he was the last of his litter. I was not interested because I was sure the Samoyed was the right dog for me. Then, God closed the door on the Samoyed. I reluctantly went to look at the Pom. To make a long story short, I got the Pom (I named him Adagio) and he has been the most perfect dog for me.

Adagio taught me a powerful lesson about faith. When I pray for something, I need to keep my hands open and allow God to close or open the doors. He know what I need better than I do. My mother always said, "God always gives the best to those who leave the choice with Him."

I will be praying that God will bring the best dog for you at exactly the right time.

Blessings to you,
Laura Strasser
