David Paul: Songwriter

Share

This past Monday Dave was in Nashville hanging out with Matthew West as part of a small group of radio people from around the country (Our own Jack and Erin were there too).

Matthew has a new album coming out in October and all the songs are from stories submitted by his fans earlier this year. He received over 10,000 submissions and spent two months in a cabin going through the stories and writing the songs that will be included on this record.

On Monday afternoon, everyone went to a cabin with Matthew and were divided into four small groups. Each group was given a story from the 10,000 submission and told to go "write a song." Dave’s group had a story from a mom whose two year old child developed an incurable disease where she lost all her hair (Alopecia Universalis).

Dave's group spent about two hours writing a song based on that story but with a twist. After dinner, everyone gathered together in the living room of the cabin as Matthew West put music to the lyrics and performed the songs.

Oh my! God know what we need and when we need it. A friend posted this link on my facebook account because my son has a rare medical problem and he looks different. We had a very bad experience at the Library this week. One child even went as far to say that he was going to cover his face with a book so he did not have to look at my son. I was heartbroken:( My son is only 5 and is one of the closest persons to God I know. He is a "GLIMPS OF GLORY"
Thank you for posting this song and when I needed it most.
