Gustav has come and gone but now the work begins - please help the thousands affected by the storm. These three agencies are on the ground right now working with vitcims of the storm:
1. Samaritan's Purse www.samaritanspurse.org - Two Disaster Relief Units and other support vehicles departed our headquarters in North Carolina for New Orleans on Monday. Each Disaster Relief Unit is a tractor-trailer stocked with emergency supplies. They are designed to equip staff and volunteers to make emergency repairs and clean out thick mud and debris from flooded homes.
2. Red Cross www.redcross.org - Food, shelter and emotional support - providing these basic life-saving necessities to residents is the top priority of the Red Cross in the early days of this storm. The Red Cross is committed to keeping people are comfortable as possible until they are able to return home.
3. World Relief www.wr.org - This international Christian relief organization (headquartered in Baltimore) partnered with local churches and organizations to respond in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005—offering immediate assistance and long term rehabilitation to thousands affected by the disaster.
Thanks for anything you can do!
