Bom Dia friends!

We have arrived in Sao Paulo, Brazil and all is well. We are here with Compassion International, a Christian organization that seeks to eliminate  physical, spiritual, and economic poverty for children around the world. We'll be traveling around the country all week and spending time at Compassion projects and seeing first-hand, how Compassion touches these beautiful children. They needed to adjust our schedule a bit because 2 of the projects we were going to visit have had problems with crime and they determined it's too dangerous. Here, the poverty is compounded by drug lords that literally rule neighborhoods and a corrupt government that looks the other way. Can you imagine?  Pray for the people of Brazil, for their physical needs to be met and most of all for them to meet the  Lord Jesus and choose to live for Him.  The Gospel transforms lives, villages, countries, and there is no greater hope!
Chao,
Tracey

I just wanted to give you encouragement for the WRBS group. My brother-in-law (a dentist) goes to Brazil once a year for 2 weeks with some doctors and dentists (they pay their own way) who provide free medical and dental care for people in the favelas (poor sections). The druglords only allow him safe passage through many towns because he has returned to help the people many times. It is dangerous but after the last two years alone and learning the language on his own, next year he will be accompanied by his wife and children. Thank you for your work because I know how hard it is to go to these remote places. I'm praying for you and that the Lord's work will bring us closer to his return. God Bless. Mel
