A lot of people lost power last night because of the strong storms that roared through the region. BGE reported more than 191,000 customers were without electricity at some point. Since a lot of folks spent the night in the dark, we thought we would help you build a fun "power outage survival kit" so you're ready the next time this happens. Of course the kit needs the standard flashlight, batteries, portable radio, candles, and matches. But several listeners called in and added fun things like Clue and Uno for a family game night by candlelight, musical instruments for spontaneous Praise and Worship, and small flashlights for kids to play "hide n seek" in the dark. One listener said her grandkids have so much fun they actually hope the power goes out every time there's a thunderstorm.
We also talked with Jimmy Page this morning. Just how much further can you push yourself when you're exercising? Jimmy said, for most people, it's further than they think.
Alice Zhang from the Howard County Chinese School joined us in studio to talk about a special relief effort they're leading to provide help for people in the area of that Chinese earthquake a couple weeks back. In addition to helping raise some money, Alice also has a personal connection to the earthquake stricken area. Click here to listen to her story. If you'd like to help you can send your contributions (checks made out to "HCCS") to:

And don't forget to join us tomorrow at Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium as we broadcast live from the World Vision Experience:AIDS tent. It's a powerful and personal way to experience the impact of the AIDS pandemic in Africa and, most importantly, help you understandhow you can help.
