Our hearts are heavy this morning with tragic news of the death of Steven Curtis Chapman's five year old daughter, Maria. She was struck by a vehicle yesterday in her driveway. Sadly, it was driven by her older brother. Oh, the grief the Chapman family must be feeling right now. Of course, pray for them. Pray today, but also keep them in your prayers in the coming days and weeks. Perhaps even use every Steven Curtis Chapman song you hear on WRBS as a reminder to do so.
On Tuesday, Dave discovered something in his basement that creeped him out. He brought it in this morning for show and tell. Watch...
We talked with an expert at removing unwanted wildlife from your home. His name is Tom from TS Wildlife. It sounds like Dave's experience is not that unusual. Listen here
"weep with those who weep". Rom. 12:15
There are no words. To see such a beautiful little girl killed, takes all logic out of the mind.
I have blogged on this as well, so that the Body of Christ can weep with the Chapmans, and we can suffer with them as well.
"And whether one member suffers, then we all suffer". 1 Cor. 12:28
I was in the grocery store last night about the time Maria was hit (between 5 and 5:30), and while scouring the isles, I heard "Cinderella" waft through the speakers on Muzak. (I love it when they play Christian tunes in stores!)
But, woa...shivers!
Of course, I was totally unaware of the situation, and only heard about the tragedy from you all this morning. The song has instantly taken on a whole new meaning. As have several other of Steven's songs. "When Love Takes You In", for one. God, who is LOVE itself, has taken Maria to her ultimate home and family.
I am confident, though, that God is going to use the Chapman family, especially in these circumstances, to be His light in a world without hope.
