What Do You Do In Your Car?

Share

This morning we were wondering what you do in the car on the way to work...that is, other than drive. We got some interesting answers.

Listeners also called and told us they do lesson planning, put on makeup, change clothes, and study for tests. It's amazing anyone makes it to work safely!

There was a story in the news this morning about the economy. USA Today polled more than 50 economists and asked them if they thought we were in a recession. Most thought we either already are, or will be before the end of the year. How do you manage your money in tough economic times? We talked to Mary Hunt, editor of Debt Proof Living about this.

We also had our Weekly CD Download at 7:30a. This morning we featured the new CD by Rush of Fools.

Tomorrow is the final day of Reading Through the Bible in 90 Days. Did you do it? We want to hear from you. We also hope you'll plan to stop by this Friday at the Chick Fil a in Perry Hall. It's our monthly First Friday broadcast on the road. We'll be there from 6a-10a.

I'm almost there. Only 22 pages to go. I've never read the whole Bible before. This was a big challenge for me, but I'm gonna do it :) I've learned a lot, re-visited some old friends and checked off something I've always wanted to do. Thanks for the encouragement.

Things I do in the car while driving to work in the morning? Listening and laughing with TMD, of course! But besides that, one major thing for me is eating breakfast. I have a 45-minute commute, usually with not much traffic, so it's a good time for me to relax and chow down. In winter, I usually have a cup of hot instant oatmeal (a little more watery than one eaten with a spoon) and "drink" it. Sometimes, I'll make a nice breakfast sandwich. Other times, particularly when I'm running late, it's just a breakfast bar. And I like to finish my 20-oz cup of coffee before I arrive at the parking lot at work!

I won't be able to make it to Chick Fil A on Friday, but I wanted you to know that I completed the reading Monday without the two grace days. It really was an incredible journey! Thanks for inviting us to share in this with you!

I seem to come up with blog topics in the car! My commute is an easy 25 minute straight-shot up Route 235 from California, MD to Charlotte Hall, so no beltway blues for me! :) So the easiness of it allows me to quiet my heart and allow God to speak to me.

I also attempt to rub some lotion into my hands while at a stoplight, but it ALWAYS turns green before the sliminess goes away. Not too safe, I guess!

Hey, thanks for playing Chris Sligh this morning! (Wednesday)
